This position is in the Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Office of Odometer Fraud Investigation (OFI). The federal odometer law and its implementing regulations carry administrative, civil, and criminal penalties. The incumbent serves as a criminal investigator reporting directly to a supervisory criminal investigator. As a Criminal Investigator, you will: Conduct independent investigations which are relatively large in number, widespread geographically, and which involve frequent or extensive contact with subjects and principals.
