This position serves as a Purchasing Agent for the Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service at the Miami Veteran Affairs Health Care System. The Purchasing Agent will purchase, research, analyze, and collaborate to ensure that the best value for the most appropriate devices are purchased for Veterans. Major duties and responsibilities include: Examines contracts, purchasing policies, equipment sources, shipping procedures and corresponding terminology to rapidly find the most reasonably priced item to meet requirement. Resolves conflicts in administering purchase orders, such as protests, claims, duplicate billing & terminations for convenience or default.
